808 Dance Studio is proudly owned and operated by the Wright family—Kane, Shalyma, Chloe and Nevaeh. Originally from Auckland, they moved to Christchurch 16 years ago.
After years of supporting both daughters’ dance journeys, opening a studio in Selwyn felt like a natural next step—an opportunity arose and they jumped at the chance to give other aspiring dancers access to the experiences and opportunities that had meant so much to their family over the years.

How old do you have to be to dance at 808 Dance Studio?
We offer a wide range of classes for all ages and skill levels, starting from dancers as young as 2 years through to teens and adults! Whether you’re looking to nurture a love of dance from the very beginning or continue your journey as an adult, we have something for everyone.
Do you offer trials?
Yes, you can try any class before committing! We offer one free trial; any additional trial classes will be $10. Max of two trials (1 free, 1 paid)
Do I need to re-enrol at the beginning of each term?
No, you’ll be automatically re-enrolled for the next term throughout the year. Simply pay the term fees, and you’re all set to continue in your classes! However, re-enrolment is required for each new year, as our timetables change, and your dancer is likely to move up to a new class.
What happens if a class is cancelled?
In the rare event that a class is cancelled, we will always arrange a make-up class; this will be done in week 10. If a make-up class cannot be scheduled, we will credit your account for the value of the cancelled class.
What happens if I miss a class?
We don’t offer make-up classes or refunds for missed classes, except in cases of serious sickness/injury where a medical certificate must be provided.
What if I’m not planning on coming back next term?
We’ll be sad to see you go, but if you’re no longer able to attend your class, please let us know by the end of week 6 so we can process your unenrolment. Your enrolment will remain active, and you’ll continue to be charged for classes until this is completed.
How do I pay my fees and when are they due?
All fees are due on the first day of each term. Payment can be made through your portal, or at the studio via EFTPOS or Cash. Bank Transfer is also available, or Auto-payment if approved by Management.

We do not offer refunds for change of mind.
